2018 „Scenes from existing and non-existent stories” – painting and graphics at Etude Gallery, Sofia
Art as a place of stories, where they need to be told. Paintings serve as both existing and imagined texts, seeking to inscribe the world rather than just depict it… Perhaps we could see this in the paintings of the artist Lilyana Dvoryanova. Within her art, fairy tales not only exist but come alive. Birds, beasts, musical notes, snippets of books, vanished geographical points, and angels coexist with the dreams of the child and the yearnings of the queen, to quench the thirst of the eyes for stories from read or unborn texts.
