Exhibition of digital graphics by LILIANA DVORYANOVA, Black C Art Gallery, Gainesville, Florida
This exhibition is a continuation of the exhibition “The Body’s Choreographies” from 2008. Lilyana Dvoryanova once again collaborates with Ani Collier, who stages a dance performance in Sofia. The artist captures some of the dancers during rehearsals, experimenting with capturing movement at low speeds. Lilyana aims to use the effect of “smearing” to convey the feeling of weightlessness of the dancing body. However, the photographs serve her only as source material, which she then manipulates and digitally embellishes to create ethereal impressions of the soul.
