Participation in “Raz-Lichno” – a curatorial exhibition based on the idea of “Art in Action.” Curators: Orlin Dvoryanov and Krasimira Dreenska (the gallery space at the Triangle Tower of Serdika, a branch of the Regional Historical Museum Sofia, 2019)
Lilyana Dvoryanova presents her installation “In Focus,” composed of digital photographs and miniature clay figurines. The concept aims at the society where each individual is not only an integral part of the whole but also possesses unique individual traits. In fact, the multitude is represented by the small figurines arranged on the ground in front of the wall where the photographs are displayed. Despite their uniform miniature size and white color, they blend into a seemingly homogeneous mass, inviting viewers to perceive them collectively. However, when some of them are enlarged and individually presented on prints of different sizes, digitally embellished, the idea is conveyed that society is built of individual personalities. The artwork suggests that by focusing our attention on individuals, we can discern their peculiarities, decipher the influences they encounter, and ultimately grasp a fuller understanding of them as unique beings.”
